Fontwell Park is located just 6.5 miles from the Black Rabbit, it is the only figure of 8 racecourse in the country. The park was founded in 1887 by Alfred Day, by 1924 he had purchased enough land to open a racecourse at Fontwell, the first meeting took place on 21 May 1924.Find out more
Arundel Castle is a restored and remodelled medieval castle. The castle was established by Roger de Montgomery on Christmas Day 1068, who was named the first Earl of Arundel by William the Conqueror. The castle was damaged in the English Civil War and then restored in the 18th and 19th centuries.
From the 11th century the castle has served as a home and has been in the ownership of the family of the Duke of Norfolk for over 400 years.
