Welcome

The perfect waterside location near Arundel

Situated on the banks of the River Arun and only a few minutes’ drive from the A27, with stunning views over the wet lands to Arundel Castle, the Black Rabbit is a perfect example of the quintessential traditional country pub.

In 2016 Hall & Woodhouse spent £700k to preserve the riverbank and keep the jetties usable by pleasure boats and with plenty of outside seating areas directly overlooking the water, the pub is a hive of activity on a perfect summer’s day.

And when winter finally sets in our cosy pub, with its roaring log fires, oak beams and even the boat from the Harry Potter film The Philosophers Stone, provides the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Opening Times

Monday - Sunday: 10am-10pm

Black Rabbit: Hazel... Hazel... you know me, don't you?

Hazel: I don't know.

[The apparition reveals himself to be the Black Rabbit, and Hazel gasps]

Hazel: Yes, my lord. I know you.

Celebrate Easter With Us

We love Easter, celebrating the long bank holiday with friends and family and maybe an Easter egg or two!! We’re open for the whole of the bank holiday weekend, so make sure you pop in and enjoy a bite to eat and a few drinks with friends or family.

This year Easter Sunday is also National Tea Day, chocolate and tea, yes please! All our teas come from the independent British company Canton Tea who source their teas direct from small, family-run farms.

Sunday Roasts

We think ours are the best (apart from Mum’s!) and we spend all week looking forward to them. Freshly roasted every Sunday morning and served with seasonal veg, Yorkshires, roasties and gravy homemade in our kitchen.

Our delicious ‘Rocket Espresso’ has come from our friends at Extract Coffee Roasters. It’s a combination of fantastic coffee and good ethics. This particular blend comprises 100% Arabica coffee beans from one farm in Colombia and a co-operative project in Peru, who work to directly benefit the families and communities involved.
